Abstract

|
Suicide is the first cause of death in 10-39 years old in Korea. As suicide and depression as major risk factor of suicide showed a seasonal variation of occurrence, vitamin D(VD) deficiency might be associated. When medical and laboratory evidences for association between VD and suicide, and between VD and depression were evaluated, VD supplementation might be helpful to prevent seasonal suicide and/or depression in Korean adolescences.
